Project Description

FNA provided deep foundation design, construction support, MTA consulting, and expediting services for Fiterman Hall, which suffered irreparable damage during the collapse of the neighboring World Trade Center on 9/11. The project faced numerous design challenges, including environmental remediation and deconstruction of the existing structure to accommodate a vertical campus on a relatively small site. With 15 levels of program space, Fiterman Hall houses four major academic programs and a significant portion of the school’s general education teaching spaces. The building features two major entrances, each serving distinct purposes, with the front door opening to a raised terrace with a public area and direct access to the art gallery, creating a vibrant atmosphere with dynamic, light-filled spaces.
