Project Description

FNA provided engineering design services for supplementary Support of Excavation (SOE) and performed slope stability analysis for multiple locations of equipment placement, including excavators and drill rigs, for One Vanderbilt. This 73-story supertall skyscraper, located at the corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, opened in 2020. With a roof height of 1,301 feet and a spire reaching 1,401 feet above ground level, it ranks as the city’s fourth-tallest building. The facade, predominantly glass with terracotta spandrels, was designed to complement the adjacent Grand Central Terminal. One Vanderbilt houses office space and dining options, including Le Pavillon restaurant and the Summit One Vanderbilt observation deck, offering panoramic views of New York City and has become a prominent addition to the city’s skyline.
